Within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s vision to support innovation and strengthen partnerships between scientific research and the industrial sector, the National Food Industries Institute is organizing a specialized forum at the National Research Centre. The forum is held under the patronage of Dr. Abdelaziz Qansoua, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of Dr. Mamdouh Moawad, President of the National Research Centre. It brings together innovators, experts, and industry leaders in the food sector, with the aim of developing traditional products, launching innovative functional and healthy foods, and opening new horizons for local production and export to global markets.
The forum will be held on Wednesday, 1 April, at the main hall of the National Research Centre. It will provide opportunities for collaboration with industry stakeholders to develop traditional local products and introduce more competitive alternatives in terms of price and quality, while opening channels for marketing Egyptian products in line with international standards. The event will also showcase more than 120 innovative food products ready for production and marketing, in addition to discussions on developing approved technical specifications for each product, and providing technical consultations and accredited analyses to support product quality and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products in the market.
The forum also contributes to activating the “Import Substitution” initiative in cooperation with the Chamber of Food Industries and the Export Council, aiming to provide local alternatives for essential food inputs. Furthermore, it serves as a platform to engage investors, exchange expertise, and address current challenges through scientific and practical approaches, with the participation of leading specialists in marketing, export, food safety, and product quality.
